I ran every single day over the past 183 days, I covered a little bit more than 1500km. Here are a few things I learned along the way…
Running everyday is much easier that running every other day
When you run every other day, you always have the option of not going, therefore you have to make the decision, again and again, each day. Tiredness, important meeting, rain: believe me, you will find good reasons for postponing to tomorrow, and tomorrow again. However, when you run everyday, you just have to make the decision once, removing the temptation of not going.
You just need to Start
The real achievement of running 100 days in a row is not in the last 10 days, but in the first 10. On the day, the real achievement is not in the last 100 steps, but in the first 100. Like whatever you want to learn or do. Start writing, start coding, start making those phone calls. Just start.
There will be nothing linear in your progression
Some days are more difficult than others and you don’t know why. Some are easier and you don’t know why either. And other days, you just feel good enough to naturally go faster and further. It happens suddenly, exactly like mastering a new skill.
And last but not least, if you go as well for 100 days of running… or more, don’t forget to enjoy the journey!
